Part 8--Coming Home

Sarah Grace saw her first American flag today! We had our official appointment at the U.S. Consulate. All of the parents were very excited to see U.S. government employeesma and to be on U.S. soil. The actual ceremony consisted of them looking at our passport and asking us if everything on our documents was true. So there wasn't as much pomp and circumstance as we thought there might be. We thought maybe they would play the national anethm and wave little flags. Still, it was wonderful to be through with one more official step. (We don't have pictures of this event because there were no cameras allowed in the Consulate.) When we touch ground in Chicago, Sarah Grace will be a U.S. citizen!

We leave China with mixed emotions. We are excited to go home so we can stop living out of a suitcase, have familiar food available to us and introduce Sarh Grace to all the people who love her. It is a bit strange though to take her from her homeland and wonder when we will be able to bring her back to visit. We leave though with absolute certainty that God destined this little girl to grow up in our family as our daughter. We look forward to teaching her all about her homeland and all about how God brought her to the United States to be loved by us.

We leave the hotel tomorrow at 6 am. We'll travel about 24 hours and arrive in Indianapolis at 6 pm on Friday night (which will actually be Saturday morning in our minds). We can't wait to see all of you.

We are so grateful to our great God for all of the answers to prayer throughout this trip. We will sing his praises forever for giving us this sweet daughter. Thanks for all of your support. We'll see you in person soon!

Love - Andy, Angie and Sarah Grace

I'm so happy to see the last update!! I've loved reading about your adventures but know the last part means you'll be home SOON! I SO wish we could all be there physically. We'll definitely be there in spirit, though.

Love all three of you!

You all are probably boarding the plan in China as I write this, and it will be hours now that Sarah Grace will be a US citizen officially.

We will see you at the airport & remember to get your request taken care of also!

To the fortunate friends and family who are able to greet the Wiggins on their return:
Will someone give Sarah Grace an extra two kisses for me and Maya? Oh, how we would love to be there. :)

I've got your kisses covered. I'll throw in a hug as well.

Karen:

Thank you so much for taking the time to help Angie & Andy. I know you'll always have a special place in their hearts, as well as Sarah Grace's.

Angie, Andy & Sarah Grace:

It is now 12:34 p.m. in China and so I hope you're in your seats (hope you found 2 together) and ready to go. It's been a long 2 weeks for us here and we're ready to start living the dream of having Sarah Grace as a part of our family. We love you and are very proud of you all for your courage to follow your dream. See you soon!

Love,

Grandma Wanda

We woke up this morning knowing this is the day that the LORD has made we will rejoice and be glad in it, then we hear that you were delayed in Hong Kong. Just two more hours to wait for your smile will not be that bad. We can make it.

As I watch the clock tick away the day is so long. I can't wait to see your smile touch your precious face.

We are so glad you will be our family in person like you have been in pictures until now.

We love you very much.
